Statement of Attainments

On successful completion students will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment, which is recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework.

RPL/Credit Transfers

If you have completed some of the units previously, you may be eligible for a Credit Transfer. If you have a range of knowledge and skills that you believe meet the requirements of any of the units listed you may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). This process will involve submitting evidence to Australian Management & Safety Training in the form of employer testimonies, resumes, logbooks, reports etc. Please call us to discuss your options.

Unit Information

RIIWHS204D - Work safely at Height

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to work safety at heights in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries. This unit it appropriate for those working in operational roles where they are required to perform work at heights

Supervise Work at Height Competency Set

RIIWHS204D alone does not include sufficient skills for supervising heights work. AS1891defines a Height Safety Supervisor as: A person who is competent in the skills needed to perform harnessed based work at heights, to supervise other operators including those at entry level and to participate in first response rescue. To address this we recommend the following units of competency be completed:

  • RIIWHS204 - Work safely at Height

  • RIIERR205 - Provide Initial Response First Aid

  • RIIRIS201 - Conduct Local Risk Control

  • MSAPMPER300 - Issue Work Permits

  • PUAFIR215 - Prevent Injury

  • PUASAR022 - Participate in a Rescue Operation

PUASAR032A - Undertake Vertical Rescue

This unit covers the competency required to undertake vertical rescue in a range of emergency situations in natural and man-made environments.

Pre-requisite - PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation

Course Duration

RIIWHS204D - Work Safely at Height - 1 day

Supervise Work at Height Competency Set - 2 days

PUASAR032 - Undertake Vertical Rescue - Minimum 40 hours

Courses delivered at Australian Management & Safety Training office in Walkerston commence at 7am and would normally conclude approximately 4 pm depending on class size and trainee skill level

A copy of a previous Statement of Attainment with relevant competency and date must accompany enrolment into a refresher course
